Jonathan Emord, who is running as a U.S. senator for Virginia, decried the sham trial and rigged verdict against former President Donald Trump on the “Health Ranger Report.”
The expert on litigation and constitutional law told the Health Ranger Mike Adams that there was so much wrong with the Trump hush money case. He remarked that the legislature’s role is to create laws, and the prosecutor is supposed to enforce it.
Emord responded to a question by Adams by explaining that Manhattan District Attorney (DA) Alvin Bragg was indeed making a new law by deeming an accounting error as a campaign finance violation. He further argued that Bragg took a standard business records case way past the statute of limitations and manipulated it to result in a conviction. (Related: Donald Trump found GUILTY on all 34 charges in blatantly rigged New York trial, could be sentenced to 20 years in prison.)
“You have no basis to create law by the action of a DA. Here you have a DA who literally created new law and a court that went along with it, rather than dismiss it. It was barred because they brought it too late,” the senatorial candidate continued.
“So in order to overcome that bar, [Bragg] invents new law. And what he does is he says that this misdemeanor business records case is going to be a felony. It’s going to be a felony because he’s going to allege that there’s not only an intent to falsify a business record, which is utterly untrue, but that there’s also an intent to interfere with the elections since 2016.”
Emord further described the progressive DA’s case against Trump as preposterous due to the lack of basis in fact to support it and the lack of foundation to proceed with it.
Adams mentioned that Trump’s legal team has said he was going to appeal his case, but even the appeals process still subjected him to biases at a higher level. Emord agreed, noting that his appeal might be rejected. He also pointed out that the case is interfering with Trump’s ability to campaign and has resulted in a gag order.
“There has been an enormous reputational damage too. So, you have irreparable injury. You have the equities favor him because there’s no particular need to throw Trump in jail. The equities favor him, he’s running a national campaign so you should allow that,” Emord said.
Ultimately, Adams mentioned that Bragg and the other prosecutors involved in the case know it won’t survive appeal. He likewise added that they don’t care because it can cause damage to Trump ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
The Natural News and Brighteon.com founder also asked Emord about the amicus brief he plans to file with the court to try to overturn Trump’s verdict. The senatorial candidate for the Old Dominion explained that he plans to file the amicus brief after Trump is sentenced on July 11, and the court will then enter a scheduling order.
