In an episode of “Tucker Carlson Uncensored,” host Tucker Carlson raised the prospect that the American judicial system’s alleged bias against former President Donald Trump could lead to a gross misuse of the judiciary and threaten the future of democracy in the United States.
This comes after two courts in New York and Georgia, respectively, recently ruled against the former president in two separate cases.
In New York, a court recently ordered Trump to pay $354.9 million in penalties for allegedly overstating his net worth to defraud lenders. The lawsuit was brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James, a Democrat who accused Trump and his family businesses of overstating his net worth by as much as $3.6 billion a year over a decade to fool bankers into giving him better loan terms.
Trump has accused James of bringing the case against him as part of a “political vendetta” meant to subvert his chances of winning back the presidency in November, calling it “election interference” and a “witch hunt,” and accusing James of being “corrupt.”
“This ‘decision’ is a complete and total sham,” Trump wrote. “We cannot let injustice stand.”
In Georgia, Trump is facing 13 counts in a case related to his alleged efforts to subvert the official results of the 2020 election. This case is potentially fatally compromised after investigations have found that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis had an undisclosed sexual relationship with Nathan Wade, who she appointed as lead prosecutor in the case. This relationship potentially created a conflict of interest.
All in all, Trump is facing a total of 91 criminal counts in four different jurisdictions, including a case brought forward to the Supreme Court. (Related: Federal appeals court rules Trump does not have immunity in election interference case – the Dems will now try to put him in jail before November.)
In Carlson’s show, he argued that the cases being brought before the former president are all being done in the service of making sure he does not win the upcoming presidential election in November.
“If goons like Fani Willis and Letitia James can rig a presidential election, then obviously we’re done,” said Carlson. “But what can we do about it?”
Speaking with Carlson, former Trump Senior Advisor Stephen Miller criticized the ruling class of the U.S. for wielding their control over the legal system to bring down “the man whose job it is to stand up to the disposed and the disenfranchised of this country.” He warned that the judicial actions against the former president are the elites’ sending a message.
“The message being, ‘If you out there choose a leader from among you to stand up to us, we will decapitate him.’ That’s the message they’re sending.” said Miller. He further pointed out that rising public dissatisfaction with current issues does not matter to these elites. If any kind of leader rises up to challenge the status quo, their power will be neutralized.
